December 16, 2011

Epic’s Addison team was committed to helping Jonathan’s Place spread holiday cheer to the youngest victims of abuse – the many children Jonathan’s Place helps throughout the year. The wheels were set in motion to collect as many items as possible from the Jonathan’s Place Wish List. Every parent loves to celebrate their child’s birthday. And I don’t think I’ve ever met a child that doesn’t enjoy having a special birthday party. This is a very stressful time for new parents who desperately want to understand their child’s illness(es) and related prognosis. Medicine is, at times, an art…Read More

Why Did You Decide to Become a Nurse?

October 28, 2011

Epic Health Services Wants to Know…Why did you decide to become a Nurse?” Our Epic recruiters ask this question to everyone who applies to be an Epic Health Services’ nurse. Among numerous responses, one of the most memorable replies came from a seasoned, intensive care unit, male nurse: “At 18-years-old, I had one thing on my mind: women. I chose a profession that would allow me to meet as many women as possible.” While honesty is a characteristic we value at Epic, one of the key character traits we look for is compassion. Nursing is a profession that requires one…Read More
