Last Saturday, Epic team members from our branch in Beaumont, Texas, participated in The Special Angels Rodeo.
The rodeo is an adaptive sports event, hosted by the Orange County Sheriff’s Posse, for people with all forms of disability who under most circumstances would not be able to participate in rodeo events.
Epic team members Lorenzo Argote, executive director; Elizabeth Keith, nursing director; Jeanna LaFlamme, operations manager; Brittany Singley, client service supervisor; and Dawn Broussard, administrative assistant, manned an information booth and provided information about Epic’s therapy and nursing services to attendees and their families.
“Our team had a blast meeting the kiddos and families at this great event,” said Lorenzo. “It was awesome to see everyone having fun and being able to participate in the different activities and sports.”
The day was filled with fun and adaptive sports and activities for children with special needs including horse riding, mechanical bulls, carnival games, rodeo clowns and bounce houses.
Each participant in the event received a gold medal and other souvenirs from their day as a real cowboy or cowgirl.
Great job, Beaumont!
