We recently sat down with Kristian Daniels, Epic’s talent acquisition director, to learn about careers in home health, what makes someone successful in the industry, and what it’s like working for Epic.
Q: What makes a career in home health different from other career paths?
A: A career in home health is about ensuring families can be families and stay intact in their home environment.
As a home health professional, you contribute to the greater good of your community, not only locally, but in all of the communities which Epic serves across the country.
Q: What does it take to be successful in home health?
A: To be successful in home health, you should value family, community and selfless service. You should be able and willing to put the needs of others before your own.
Being nice, smart and driven are key qualities that we seek out in prospective candidates.
Q: What makes working at Epic different?
A: When you work at Epic, you immediately join a compassionate team of people that share a common mission and a purpose to help others. Together, we are all focused on our overarching mission to provide care for those that are unable to care for themselves.
We believe in doing whatever it takes to ensure the highest quality care delivered with extraordinary service. To that end, we welcome and encourage collaboration, innovation and creativity from all of our team members.
As a result of our mission-driven culture, the level of camaraderie and teamwork in the field and branches is unparalleled.
Q: What types of opportunities are available at Epic?
A: For clinical professionals, we have opportunities for people to enrich their skills while receiving on-going training and serving pediatric or adult patients.
For non-clinicians, opportunities abound. Working in a branch or clinic can build skills in sales, customer service or even entrepreneurship.
Anyone that has a desire to serve and dedicate themselves to a community that needs advocates can find a home at Epic.
Q: Why do you enjoy working at Epic?
A: I enjoy being able to go home at the end of the day knowing that my contributions, no matter how great or small, affected someone’s life in a positive way.
Whether that means giving someone a job or delivering talent to someone’s family, I know that in some capacity I made a difference that day.
