Yee-haw! On Oct. 13, one of our kiddos, Luke, displayed his horsemanship by participating in the 4th Annual Ride of Champions, an event organized by the Campfire Creek Therapeutic Riding Center in Waxahachie, Texas.
During the fun-filled day, Luke and the other kids demonstrated their riding skills while engaging in therapy to build and strengthen their muscles. Some of the very impressive skills they performed included:
- Learning basic horse control
- Stopping in a stable
- Riding while standing in the stirrups
- Pitching balls into a bucket while riding the horse
Chris Meyers, client services coordinator at our Dallas office, stopped by the event to spend the day with Luke and show his support.
“It is always a rewarding experience to see the children that Epic Health Services takes care of,” said Chris. “Seeing them continue to challenge themselves makes me want to work even harder so that they get the best care possible.”
The riders finished the day with an awards ceremony, where they each received a trophy and medallion in recognition of their championship performance.
Hats off to you, Luke!
