Meet a Member!
Today, it’s our honor to introduce you to Leslie Taylor, occupational therapist registered (OTR) with our pediatric therapy clinic in Dallas, Texas.
Q: What do you enjoy most about being an OTR?
A: The best part about being a pediatric occupational therapist is seeing the excitement both a child and his or her parent show when they learn a new skill.
Plus, every day is different with the kids! Together with the child, we are constantly coming up with new games and activities to achieve our goals.
Q: Why did you choose to work at Epic?
A: I really love the variety of children’s ages and diagnoses that we see at Epic. No two of my clients have the same goals, interests or personalities.
Q: What’s your favorite therapy tip or activity?
A: My favorite therapy tip is to engage the child with silliness! Smiling, making funny faces or sounds and playing jokes help to keep the kids happy and engaged. It also helps turn around bad moods or tantrums.
Q: What are your top three therapy resources?
A: Don’t underestimate the value of your fellow therapists! You will learn more by observing and bouncing ideas off your peers than you will ever learn from a textbook.
Thank you, Leslie, for letting us get to know you and for all you do for the community as an OTR!
