Winston Churchill once said, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”

This is the perfect way to describe one of our Katy, Texas, team members and the outstanding service she’s providing our clients.

Meet Natasha Charles. She has been a part of the Epic team for over a year and brings a unique perspective to her role as referral coordinator.

You see, when Natasha speaks with parents and caregivers about services for their loved ones, she speaks from personal experience.

Natasha’s 13-year-old daughter, Lamya, has special needs that require in-home skilled nursing. Lamya was diagnosed with chromosome deletion, cerebral palsy, partial anomalous pulmonary venous return, Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome and seizure disorder. She is also fed with a gastrostomy tube.

“I know what it feels like to think no one understands what I’m going through,” said Natasha. “It’s hard to see your child go through so much pain, but it’s a blessing when she can receive the care she needs right at home.”

Her experience raising Lamya gives her a greater understanding of clients’ concerns and frustrations. She often shares her own experience with clients and goes above and beyond to provide information or advice about community resources.

Natasha says part of the reason she chose to work at Epic was to help children like Lamya. She wanted to be a part of a team that helps people in need and to be a voice for children and adults that may not be able to communicate on their own.

Natasha is a Houston native and the mom of three children. In her spare time, she loves dancing, singing and taking her kids to the park.

Thank you, Natasha, for making a difference in the lives of so many of our clients!
