Stacy Ostrander-Tetzlaff, BCBA and certified autism services clinical supervisor, at the 2014 Texas Autism Research Conference.

Last week, team members from Epic’s San Antonio office and pediatric therapy clinic exhibited at the 2014 Texas Autism Research Conference, an event that provides information about autism research and shares studies supporting evidence-based practices in the diagnosis and treatment of people with autism.

The two-day event was held at the University of Texas at Austin campus and attracted attendees from a variety of backgrounds including teachers, school administrators, speech-language pathology students, autism advocates, physicians, psychologists, early childhood intervention services employees and parents of children with autism.

Epic team members Stacy Ostrander-Tetzlaff, board certified behavior analyst and autism services clinical supervisor, and Haley Segovia, client relations associate, manned an information booth and shared information about Epic’s applied behavior analysis services for children with attendees.

“It was an amazing experience to be able to meet the parents of children with autism,” said Haley. “They are determined to do whatever it takes to be a better parent and advocate for their child and that is truly inspirational.”

The event highlighted the work of researchers from Texas and across the country who are respected experts in the field of autism.

The conference was hosted by the Texas Autism Research & Resource Center and the Texas Center for Disability Studies.

Thanks, San Antonio, for supporting autism research!
