Last Saturday, a member of our South Houston team braved great heights to help raise money for the Special Olympics Texas.

Angela Gullett, therapy director, participated in Over the Edge, a unique fundraising event in which participants raise funds in exchange for the once-in-a-lifetime experience to rappel 15-22 stories down a high-rise building.

Angela participated in the Houston-based Over the Edge event and rappelled 20 stories down the Embassy Suites Houston – Downtown.

During the event, each participant is placed into a full-body industrial harness and uses an industrial descender to go down the building. It takes between five and 15 minutes for most participants to get to the bottom.

Participants receive a pre-assigned time for their rappel so they can invite friends and family to cheer them on.

“I had such an awesome time!” said Angela. “Doing this was on my bucket list and the Special Olympics is such a great cause! I can’t wait to do it again!”

Angela committed to raising $1,000 over the next 30 days to help pay for three Special Olympians to attend and participate in the games.

Way to go, Angela! Thanks for helping to raise money for such a worthy cause!
