A few weeks ago, team members from our Austin office attended the 9th Annual Texas Parent to Parent Conference. Texas Parent to Parent (TxP2P) provides support, resource referrals and education to families of children with disabilities, chronic illness or special health care needs.

What’s so special about TxP2P is that the organization builds on a peer-support model where parents are matched with a trained support-parent who shares a similar experience.

Besides Parent to Parent, there are several other organizations and support resources out there that offer families emotional support as well as referrals for local services specific to children with special needs.

To help you find the support you need in your area, we’ve compiled a list of resources on our website. You can also check with your local church, synagogue, community center or hospital for a list of support groups in your area.
